Hi guys,

Anyone had success implementing a rework control?
For example:
If my Task goes from Done to To Do, I increment a field to keep counting the rework.

Sorry if I missed any previous discussion on this, but I was curious if a hierarchical "treeview" type of control for use with WI types is being considered, actively developed, etc. as part of this project? I am thinking something that works like the built in control for Areas and Iterations. If this is not being considered, does anyone know of any existing ones others may have created?

Both the client-side and the web client installers are both in the 1.1.1.0 release but you need to install the web access.

The process is documented in the release notes but it's not so easily discoverable: http://witcustomcontrols.codeplex.com/releases/view/99616.

I will try to review the documentation and see if we can improve this a bit.

Hi again. Looks like i found solution. I downloaded extension v.1.0.3 from here: http://witcustomcontrols.codeplex.com/sourcecontrol/list/patches?ViewAll=true&ProjectName=witcustomcontrols, installed and enabled it and and now it works in TWA.

Hi.

I'm new in TFS - just at the evaluation stage. So my question might be stupid... Nevertheless.

I installed 1.1.1.0 release both on clinet computer and on TFS server computer by executing WitCustomControlSetup2012.msi.

In VS2012 it works well, but in TWA it tells "Cannot create work item control of type "MultiValueControl"". Are there some actions which should be done besides executing WitCustomControlSetup2012 on the server to make it operational in TWA?

We've upgraded our TFS to 2012 and our custom controls have been installed on the server, client and through web access, however when some users choose to use the work item from the SharePoint dashboard they are getting "Error: Unable to create 'MultiValueControl'"

Is there somewhere else I should be include the wicc and dll files so that when viewing the work items though the SharePoint dashboard I can see the custom controls?

I downloaded the 2012 zip file and dll.... and I have the MSI for 2010... but i still cant make this thing work on 2010?

I have added the Multivaluecontrol to my WIT but I get this error in the field when I try to Preview the template.

Failed to load MultiValueControl control. Value cannot be null. Parameter name: type

Hi there!

I love the MultiValueControl and it works perfectly in Visual Studio, thank you very much! In TFS Web access, it is not working in IE8 (on Windows XP). It works flawlessly in IE9, and it also works in FireFox, but not in IE8. Is anyone else seeing this issue? I am running 1.1.1.0 in TFS 11.

Hi,

I'm able to create multi level control under tfs template on team explorer using WitCustomControlSetup2012.msi provided by code plex.

However I'm not able to do it for web access, i can see options but those are not in proper shape may be css issue. Also I'm not able to install WitCustomControls.MultiValueControl.zip as i don't see Control Panel -> Extensions tab (http:\server:8080\tfs\admin\extensions) when i access web tfs.

Can you please help me to get that control planel enabled on my team web access. I think i have missed some installation. When I navigate to http:\server:8080\tfs\admin\extensions it thows 404 error.

Do you have any chance of detecting the current Visual Studio theme? I am currently running VS 2012 with the dark theme and the custom control is the only white thing in the otherwise black work item dialog.

Dave,

The whole model used for webcontrols has changed in TFS 2012.

Thus in TFS 2010 there is no way to use the exact same controls, or the same way of deploying as in TFS 2012.

If you want do have the control available on TFS 2010 you will need to grab the correct control and follow all of the steps as described in the article you mentioned.

If you can wait for TFS 2012 it is indeed much easier. Just uploading the zip-file in the web interface and enabling it is sufficient.

I am trying to use the MultiValue Control in a TFS 2010 environment, however, we will upgrade to TFS 2012 in 8 - 10 weeks. It looks like it is pretty easy to deploy this in Team Web Access 2012. I am trying to find an EASY way to deploy the MultiValue Control to Team Web Access 2010. Is that possible?
